Thematic Networks
Fourteen IRE Thematic Networks dealt with subjects of interest for groups of regions during the period 2001-2004. Their aim was to help regions, that were designing or implementing regional innovation strategies, to gain knowledge of successful schemes in other European regions. The activities of the Thematic Networks included, for example, exchange of information, collection of good practice, networking events, study visits and conferences open to all interested regions. Participating organisations played a central role in the innovation process in their region. Each network had between ten and thirty members (regions). In total, the Thematic Networks brought together around 250 regional key players in the field of innovation. The outcomes of the IRE Thematic Networks are presented in final reports and other documents, such as guidebooks and good practice selections. |
