TII members are technology transfer and innovation support professionals who
promote related services to firms, with the ultimate aim to contribute to the
development of the knowledge economy. The members of the Association form a
network that shares professional experience and best practices. Through its
Annual Conference, TII brings together innovation and technology consultants,
universities and research centres, regional development agencies and chambers
of commerce, science parks, innovation centres and incubators, government
ministries and agencies to facilitate business and networking opportunities.

SEERC has undertaken the challenge to address topics of technology transfer and
innovation practices in a regional context that includes the South East European
perspective and dimension.

Thessaloniki has been gradually seeking to increase its competitiveness and the
long-term development of innovative approaches. So far it has done well by
reinforcing existing infrastructure and by launching a series of initiatives aiming to promote innovation-driven environments for research and technology.
Highlights of this effort are:
• The development of an Innovation Zone in Thessaloniki, including the National
Centre for Research and Technology (CERTH) and a number of technologybased
firms, incubators and research institutes.
• The establishment of the Regional Innovation Pole of Central Macedonia, an
investment that unites private and public sector actors for innovative ICT
applications in different industries.
